The most important thing about the photos you're using in your biz

I simultaneously believe that high quality photo-shoot images create a more visually appealing, ‘professional’ looking personal brand,

AND…

that the quality of a biz owners personal brand photography does not *necessarily* reflect the quality of the work they do.

(And, of course, what we see on social media is mostly the highlights either way.)

A business could have gorgeous professional images, but that professionalism may not extend to how they actually show up in their work behind the scenes.

Another biz owner could be running on selfies and snaps their mate took, and be delivering an *exceptional* service to their clients.

There is a place for both professional photography AND selfies/DIY images on our sites and socials.

Each give a certain impression and feel, but it’s just that, an IMPRESSION. We get to choose the one we want to give, and what’s right for us in this particular season of our business.

What matters most is that whether with professional photo-shoot images or snaps from our phone, our photos:

  • Look like us and match up with the person our clients actually meet when they work with us

  • Boost our confidence to be visible, making it feel easier show up and share our work and message

  • Bring the energy we want to greet our peeps with when they find us, and feel aligned with the experience we want them to have of our business (e.g. scrappy and off the cuff, polished and put-together, or somewhere in between)

  • Connect with the ones who are a great match for working with us! (We’re not for everyone.)

So go forth, share your face either way, and let us get to know who you are.

If you’re working with selfies at the moment but the time is coming to invest in photography that’s closer in quality to the quality of the service you offer, I’d love to speak!
