Personal Photography - Beauty in the Woodland - Dulverton, West Somerset Photographer

I’ve been finding a lot of joy and magic in nature and in taking my camera out with me on walks.

I am loving making images of all the different and beautiful textures of the woods - the life of it, the death of it, the self fulfilling cycles of it…

I love the rich persistent moss, the strength and vulnerability of bark, the fleeting glitter and sparkle of ice some mornings, the songs of springs and mini waterfalls, the rainbow-shine snail trails, deer hoof prints in soil, bones and skulls in the leaves.

I can feel myself changing, living here, becoming more comfortable in the dark and a little less scared of it, feeling less grossed out by slugs and worms and even feeling some kind of affinity with them as little beings that play their important part in it all. I feel more connected to the depths of time more often as I think about the lives of trees, captivated by the tiny worlds on a leaf! And feeling a bit (just a little bit) more patient about Spring coming. And don’t get me STARTED on animal burrows and fungi 😍

I can’t wait to get back to people-nature-magic when we’re all allowed to be together again, I can’t WAIT! but in the meantime I am beyond thankful for the gifts and teachers of the woods.
