Where and when is it happening?

Our session is happening at the beautiful The Tribe co-working space on Sat 28th Feb 2025. (See time slots available here!)

I’m so excited to be using this venue again. It’s a beautiful location with gorgeous original stone walls, lovely natural light and a great variety of versatile areas for photos.

What kinds of photos can we make?

This mini-shoot day is ideal for creating a range of new headshots, portraits, and a few story-telling shots, captured in a variety of compositions for the places you’ll be using them.

How much variety can we capture?

We’ll shoot in one outfit during your session, and have time for use of two or three different areas at the location. You’re welcome to bring a few props to help tell your story and give a glimpse into your life and work. We’ll speak before the day to clarify what you’d love to come away with, and therefore the kinds of props you may wish to bring with you.

What is the location like? And what backgrounds will my photos have?

Here are the spaces we’ll have access to at the location, which will inform the backgrounds of your photos:

  • the upstairs event space

  • the downstairs co-working area

  • a dark grey background at the pop-up studio in the upstairs event space!

  • if the weather is kind to us, we can also create photos outside in the courtyard garden, against the stone building, or with nearby greenery.

F.A.Q.s

  • On the day of the mini-shoot, you’ll arrive ahead of your session, with your outfit and props with you.

I recommend getting into the building ahead of your booked spot (e.g. 15 mins before our session), changing into your photo-shoot outfit (unless you traveled in it!), and checking yourself over in a mirror.

When your photo-shoot spot time comes, I’ll welcome you into the space we’re using for photos! We’ll put any props you brought with you in the space to personalise it for your images and take a few minutes to settle into our intentions for our time together.

If you’re planning to style your hair and makeup for the session, please arrive with your hair & makeup ready for photos! (Any time required for hair & makeup will start to eat into our photo- session time.)

Once we’re ready to begin our shoot, we’ll take a moment to ground ourselves, realign with our intentions for your images, and tap into the energy we want to infuse them with. This is totally optional but a supportive way to honour the creative collaboration we’re stepping into together, and get in the zone before we start shooting.

We’ll create a variety of soulful portraits and headshots at the location, before wrapping up our session, and celebrating your showing up in this way!

  • 1hr in total.

We’ll have a 30 min photo-shoot with a 15 min buffer either side for getting settled and in the zone in before we start, and wrapping up / packing away your things at the end.

  • The car park is entirely gravelled and there are five steps to get from the car park to the building, with a hand rail on both the left and right hand sides. The steps are deep, wide and also gravelled.

The entrance of the building is step free. The ground-floor co-working space is all on one level, including a toilet. Access to the main part of the courtyard garden is also step free and the ground is a mix of stone-tiles and lawn, and there are some steps around the garden.

The ‘event space’ is upstairs and accessible via a staircase (no lift).

If you have any accessibility needs at all, please let me know before booking so we can make sure it’ll work for you.

Myself or my assistant will also be on hand to help with things like opening doors, carrying your things, etc.

  • Bookings are not refundable, so please be sure you’ll be able to make it to the session before committing.

If you find you are no longer able to go ahead with your mini-shoot, you are welcome to find someone else to take your place.

If this happens, please share their name, email and phone number with me as soon as possible so that I can contact them to discuss their photography.

  • Your spot will be secured!

I’ll be in touch to arrange a call so we can connect, explore the kinds of images that will best serve you, and help you prepare for our shoot.

I’ll send over a digital guide to help you prepare, and a checklist of things to remember for the day.

  • No, you don’t!

You’re so welcome to take part in the mini-shoot day regardless of your career.

As a personal brand photographer I primarily work with small business owners, but if you’d love to take part to get some new photos of yourself personally, for your personal brand, or for any other reason, you are welcome to participate.

If you have any other questions about whether this is suitable for you, just let me know and we can feel into it.

  • In a nutshell: desks, chairs, a stool.

In the downstairs co-working space: There are white desks and chairs to use for photos of you working at a desk.

In the upstairs event space: This is more of a blank canvas. We can use a desk (they’re a lovely soft sage green/grey colour) and a chair in here if you’d like some shots of this sort in this space, either with the white painted stone wall or the grey background. There will also be a black stool for sitting on, as well as some wicker furniture. There are a few large artificial yet real-looking plants that can be used in the background of your photos/to the side, if you wish.

You can get a sense of what the spaces are like from the photos on The Tribes website here. Note that on the day of the shoot, the furniture may be in a different place/setup to in the photos on their website.

  • Yes! When we have our pre-shoot call, we’ll explore the best props for you to bring to personalise the photos. Having said this, props are completely optional and not required.

Ideas for props could be anything you use in your day to day work, your personal practices, client sessions (e.g. laptop, books, notebook, journal, your ‘making’ tools, oracle cards, yoga props, etc).

We can also use props that point to what you do without having to bring a whole load of stuff with you.

As this is a shorter session, I advise bringing only a few simple props that are quick and easy to carry in and set up for photos, as our time will be limited.

  • As we’ll be mostly shooting indoors, rainy weather will not affect our photos, and studio lighting will be used where necessary for the most flattering shots.

If the weather is kind to us, we’ll be able to get a few outdoor shots, but unfortunately I cannot guarantee the forecast (I sooooo wish I could!!!).

  • I do not retouch your photos or offer this service. I edit them for colour, brightness and contrast, but I do not remove or change your natural features (e.g. blemishes, body shape, etc).

  • No, the mini-shoot spots are for one person per session only.

Due to the nature of this offering and the limitations on time, they are not available for groups, teams or business partners, and are only for one person at a time.

If you’d like to have photos taken with your biz partner, colleague or team, pop me an email or book in a call to explore, as we could arrange this on a separate date.

  • Yes, absolutely! If you’d like to bring a friend to support you, you’re more than welcome. Please just let me know ahead of time if you are intending to bring a friend.

Mandy Lucas, animal welfare consultant

“Hand on heart, working with you was one of the best investments I made with the rebrand.”

Meera Majithia

“Becky has an amazing eye and an innate ability to get the best from her photographic subject. A true talent indeed. The session was more than just a photo-shoot; it’s an experience that allows you to take stock, reflect and really think about how you want to portray yourself, how you want your business to be viewed and received. As such it is a branding experience with fresh, up to date images to reflect your branding and your journey. Taking a moment before we started just to breathe and think of what I wanted to create was helpful. The shoot itself was fabulous fun and I could have gone on and on, we achieved an amazing amount in the time we had. I very highly recommend. ”

“Becky managed to get to the essence of my business and I love how she has captured the different parts of what I do. I loved the experience, it has boosted my confidence and I am already thinking of new ideas for posts which I can share on social media. I think I'd been holding myself back for a while because I didn’t have any up to date photographs. These images will help me to tell the story of my business online and give me the confidence to start posting regularly again, feeling like my images reflect what I do”
