Moments of early Spring on Exmoor, the reemergence - Nature photography

I think this may be the most exciting Spring of my life so far! It feels as though nature is mirroring our own reemergence, or rather, we are in rhythm with it just at this moment, and I’m feeling extremely grateful to be in such close contact with it.

The first bluebells are now flowering (yay!), buds of leaves are beginning to burst on the trees and tiny soft green needles are sprouting on the deciduous conifers (which I had worried were actually dead since we moved here in December)!

The deer tracks which criss cross and cover the woods are even more visible than normal as those sweet creatures hooves stamp down any plants, dislodge wild garlic bulbs and leave perfect prints in the damper earth, half the size of my hand, some of them!

It makes me so happy to capture it all… here are a few pics from a weekend wander when the air was hot and cold at once and smelt like life.
