What's on my desk?

When we came to view the lodge we now live in at the end of 2020, we could not believe how many rooms there were! And we became very excited about the prospect of SPACE!

Having come from a one bed flat in Brighton, which cost more to rent, it was amazing.

We are so lucky to each have our own office/studio to work from here, I feel so grateful every day for this gift. For all these years I’ve been working from my bedrooms, living rooms and co-working spaces (I do really miss @Platf9rm and my friends there, though!), so having a whole room for me & my work & painting is maaaad!!!

Now that I have more room I don’t need to keep so much all on my desk like I did before which I really appreciate.

I was going to get white curtains for the room originally, as it’s such a light space and I wanted it to be really simple and clean, but then I saw these pink ones & thought they were sooo cute! I have a habit of always opting for black, white & grey things, so am on a journey of bringing more colour into my life. These reminded my of my childhood bedroom, which always made the light so soft & pretty… so I went for them as they feel calm, homely & pretty.

Some of the things on my desk…

💻 My laptop, which I work from so much.

✏️ My journal, which I write my morning-pages in followed by my intentions for the day. I keep it open on the desk stay on track!

🌸 Right now, there are flowers I bought for our bedroom (but then stole for my office!)

🎨 There’s a little framed print of my Winter Garden painting, which reminds me of the learnings that came through the process of making it, and reminds me to paint!

🕯 A candle from my favourite place to buy funky candles, Starchild in Glasto. I tend to light candles when making something new, when I need to bring a bit of extra magic to the day, when I’m holding space for an online workshop, or if it’s a particularly dark day.

🌬 Sage for clearing the space between calls or at the end of some long process.

💜 A GORGEOUS lil trinket dish I got from HotHouseCeramics on Etsy, for keeping ink, earbuds and LIP BALM in!
