Personal Branding Photography Buckinghamshire - Karen Kimberley - Funeral Celebrant, Therapist & Coach
I was so happy to get to do this session with lovely Karen in the Autumn at her home, and in the surrounding nature where she lives in Buckinghamshire.
I met Karen quite a few years ago at a networking group we were both members of when I lived in the area, so it was gorgeous to reconnect and hear more about what she’s been working on in the time that’s passed! When we knew each other in those days, she worked as a therapist, coach and consultant which she is still doing, now adding additional strings to her bow.
Karens warmth, kindness and peaceful, powerful presence always stood out to me. She’s the kind of person you just feel so at ease and at home around, so when she told me that she’d retrained as a funeral celebrant this year I was not surprised, and know she will be an incredible support to the families she will be working with. Finding the right celebrant to honour your loved one at the time of their passing is so important, so I am really glad that she will be the person to get to know, guide and take care of many families during these difficult times.
Karen was looking for natural photos that conveyed the trust, safety, connection and depth of understanding that is so crucial to this work, plus more vibrant photos for her therapy, training and coaching business. We wanted to create both portraits and ‘detail shots’ of other elements that she could use for her website - moments of nature and items in her home.
You can find out more about Karens coaching and training work at her website here, before her celebrant website is complete: The Engagement Ring.
Here’s a snippet from an email Karen sent me after receiving her photos, (copied and pasted with her permission!):
“Wow Becky, these photographs look amazing. I'm so pleased with what a wonderful job you did for me, you made me feel so relaxed and in tune with what we were trying to achieve.
You helped me to focus in on my intentions and make the photographs so suitable for the sensitive situations I will be working in. All the extra details are perfect for getting the atmosphere right and uplifting my publicity materials and providing me with a superb profile.
I felt in such good hands. Thankyou so much for all the attention to detail, care and love you put into every inch of this project. I can't recommend you highly enough.”
Thank you so much for trusting me to capture you, Karen! Here are a few of my favourites.
If you’d like to update the images you use for your business, message me via this page and we’ll find a time to speak.
Info on photoshoots during Covid:
All shoots at this time are socially distanced. In normal times, I would rarely need to come closer than two meters to you to take a photo, so there’ll be no difference to the style or quality of your images than your pre-covid shoot. :)
I sanitise my equipment before and after our session, and use hand-sanitiser before, during and after our time together.
Unlike normal times, I do not touch or assist with arranging your props, clothing, hair etc, to help minimise contact, and will direct you with these pieces where necessary. In normal times, things like adjusting your hair, moving your props around, tucking in that bra strap! are things I might help with, with permission. I now direct you with ease and clarity to adjust the props yourself, to move that bit of hair that’s sticking up!, etc and I support you in feeling prepared for this.
I now wear a mask for the duration of sessions.
I am taking the necessary precautions in line with Government restrictions, to minimise my potential exposure to the virus, and to help stop the spread. Therefore, I do ask clients about their own Covid precautions to ensure we’re all taking care to minimise risk in our lives and then work together as safely as possible.
In addition to the gorgeous photoshoot plans we make together, talking about Covid has become a normal part of our pre-shoot chats. If you have any questions, concerns or thoughts that you’d like to talk about in relation to a potential shoot, just let me know!
